The French and sexuality, where is it? Age of first report, number of partners, sexual practices ... The investigation "Context of Sexuality in France", performed at the initiative of the National Agency for Research on AIDS and viral hepatitis (ANRE) and conducted under the scientific responsibility of Nathalie Bajos (Inserm) and Michel Bozon (INED), provides a complete French and their sexuality. In half a century, the average age of men at first sexual intercourse was reduced by a year and a half (18.8 years for the older generations now 65 to 69 years to 17.2 years for younger children), while that of women, much higher initially fell three years: 20.6 years to 17.6 years. Men always ahead of the women for the number of sexual partners ...
On the number of sexual partners, if we observe an increase in their numbers among women, the gap with men is still significant: 47.3% of women report having had at least two partners, against 70.7% men. This difference is even greater for those reporting having had many sexual partners: 10.9% women and 35.4% of men reported at least 10 sexual partners in their lives. Thus, the average number of partners varies greatly according to sex: for women 4.4 against 11.6 for men in 2006. Remains whether the women actually held all of their relationships, including those of "a night".
Women over 50 years, more sexually fulfilled than before ...
The average monthly number of reports is 8.7 for both sexes, a figure close to the results of the 1970 and 1992. However, the figures show a significant change in people older than 50 years, particularly among women: in 1970, women in couples aged over 50 were only 53% said sexual activity in the last 12 months, they are nearly 90% today. In addition, the frequency of sex increases: 5.3 reports per month in 1992, against 7.3 today, the greatest happiness of the home without any doubt.

The oral sex - fellatio and cunnilingus - are now part of the sexual repertoire "basic": over 80% of women report having experienced these practices. Even more common than fellatio, cunnilingus was experienced by 85% of men and women. Anal penetration, however, remains a sexual practice in the margins: Even if people claim to have already tested this practice are more numerous than in 1992 (24% of women, against 37% in 2006), the taboo persists.
