Recent clinical sweep our conventional ideas about the anti-lice.
- A simple wash with a detergent will be sufficient to eliminate these insects sheets, clothing, headphones, headsets, etc. Insecticide sprays are not effective.
- Lice found on pillows, chairs, hats are dead, sick or old, and does therefore not likely to infect anyone. Indeed, as soon as they become detached from their host, they die immediately.
- The transmission occurs only during prolonged head-to-face.
- Some anti-lice are wrong, including those banning child porters. Studies show that less than 20% of schoolchildren have a bearing infestation within 14 days. Moreover, half of small sent home with lice are not in reality. Thus, the diagnosis can be carried only if live lice are detected.
- Cut your hair short or tie is not useful. On the contrary, it facilitates the transition of a head lice to another. Thus, lice are more common among girls, but not because of their long hair. They simply need more games close contact of their heads.
Side treatment
- They should not be initiated until live lice have not been properly identified. Indeed, the presence of nits is not a sign of active infestation.
- All treatments have not proven their effectiveness.
Proven
Le malathion :put on dry hair for eight hours. Eight to ten days later, if live lice persist, a second treatment is needed with malathion or another product.
Lindane:application of four minutes, repeated if necessary the following week. Its use is limited because of its neurotoxicity. It is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women.
Permethrin:- cream 1%, applied ten minutes and then switch to fine-tooth comb detection. If during this operation live lice are found, repeat the operation, but only once. Indeed, a third application is to be avoided because of the emergence of resistance;
- shampoos and foam to 0.33%, applied ten minutes to wet hair, are similar in effectiveness (Maximum two applications).
- cream 1%, applied ten minutes and then switch to fine-tooth comb detection. If during this operation live lice are found, repeat the operation, but only once. Indeed, a third application is to be avoided because of the emergence of resistance;
