The National Institute of Health Surveillance (InVS) drew attention to a resurgence of pertussis since this fall. The disease evolves in a cyclical, every three to four years, and now it appears that pic is now up.

Infants too young to be vaccinated(less than three months) are particularly vulnerable to serious complications and may die. During the last peak of pertussis in 2000, nine infants died.

Primary injection from 2 months, along with vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus and polio.
1st reminder at 16-18 months.
2nd recall in 11-13 years.

In adulthood, vaccination is recommended for healthcare professionals in contact with infants and young children and for adults who become parents in the months or years to come.
It is also recommended during pregnancy, for all household members: children not to date for this vaccination and adults who have not received vaccination against whooping cough in the last ten years. The conditions are specified as follows:

• father and child during pregnancy;
  

• mother as soon as possible after delivery.
